이곳은 매년 약 120만 명의 방문객이 방문하는 인디애나주에서 가장 많이 방문하는 주립공원 중 하나입니다. 인디애나 주 블루밍턴이 가장 가까운 도시 이지만 공원은 브라운 카운티 의 작은 마을인 내슈빌 에 더 가깝습니다. 브라운 카운티(Brown County)는 1812년 전쟁 에 참전하여 미 육군 총사령관이 된 제이콥 브라운(Jacob Brown) 장군의 이름을 따서 명명되었습니다.

이 공원은 1929년에 개장했으며 1932년 인디애나의 유머 작가 Frank McKinney "Kin" Hubbard를 기념하기 위해 헌정되었습니다. Hubbard는 인디애나폴리스에서 살고 일했지만 내슈빌과 주변 숲을 자주 방문했습니다. 공원의 Abe Martin Lodge는 Hubbard의 유머와 재치를 전달하는 데 사용되는 Hubbard의 가상 불모지 캐릭터의 이름을 따서 명명되었습니다.

주차를 하고 나와보니 뷰를 한번에 볼 수 있는 전망대가 있었어요. 겁이 없는 저는 맨 꼭대기까지 올라가 보았지만 고소공포증 있어도 올라갈만 할 것 같아요.
